Former Kaizer Chiefs captain, Tefu Mashamaite, chose his dreams of playing in Europe over money by signing for BK Hacken, where he is believed to be earning around R1.7m a year.
As reported in this week's issue of Soccer Laduma, the 30-year-old centre back is thought to be earning around 100 000 Swedish Krona a month in Sweden's Allsvenskan a figure that is equivalent to around R144 000.
Having signed a two-and-a-half-year contract with Hacken, Mashamaite has committed himself to a future overseas, and recently told Soccer Laduma that he was now fulfilling a promise that he made to himself.
