South African Goalkeeper Brad Norman Unveiled At Argentinean Club

A South African goalkeeper has finally arrived in Argentina to begin life at his new club ahead of their new season.

As reported by the Siya crew, goalkeeper Brad Norman has signed with CS Independiente Rivadavia in Argentina as he looks to further his career.

As confirmed by his representatives, Norman has finally began training with the Primera B Nacional team ahead of the delayed new campaign that is now set to start in January 2021.

The 24-year-old was officially unveiled by the club this week to fanfare around Mendoza, and after a quarantine period, has officially began training with his new teammates under coach Marcelo Straccia.

"I am happy to finally be here in Argentina and to be back on the field training with my teammates after a month or so of training by myself and waiting for VISA related matters to be fully approved," said Norman from Mendoza in Argentina.

"I got the most amazing welcome from the team and from our club president Carlos Castro. We are playing a division lower, but this is one of the most popular teams in this country. When I was signing the final paperwork this week, that was in every newspaper in the country," he said.

Argentina is also home to late football legend, Diego Maradona, whose passing on last week sent shockwaves around the world.

"Arriving in Argentina also coincided with the news of Maradona passing on. The whole country has been in mourning with every street post carrying his picture or anything that commemorates this legend. It shows just what he meant to this football crazy Argentina. I know how famous he is, but I didn't realise just how important he was to seemingly every household in this country. Maradona's name is in every newspaper, every television channel and everything," concluded the former Maccabi FC player.
