Bafana Bafana's May Mahlangu and his Swedish side Goteborg were surprisingly held to a goalless draw by minnows CS Fola Esch from Luxemburg in the Europa League last night.
Mahlangu, who recently returned from an ankle injury, started the game but couldn't help his side to celebrate the much expected victory in the first leg of their European clash.
Goteborg now face a difficult task away from home and would even play a much stronger opponent, Hungarian side Gyor, if they will make it to the next round.
Cheyne Fowler was an unused substitute for his Finnish side Vaasan Palloseura in their narrow 2-1 home victory over Brommapojkarna from Sweden.
If they can defend the lead in the second leg, they will face either Nothern Ireland side Crusaders or Ekranas from Lithuania, with Crusaders winning the first leg 3-1.
Meanwhile, South African born Swiss junior international, Joel Untersee, and his Lichtenstein club FC Vaduz beat College Europa from Gibraltar 3-0 at home.
Untersee re-signed on-loan with Vaduz this week, who will play in the Swiss top-flight next season.
