Lebo Phiri Helped EA Guingamp Beat PSG Last Night

Lebogang Phiri played the full 90 minutes last night as his EA Guingamp side did something that no other French side has done this season… Beat Paris Saint-Germain.    Check out Phiri in action in the gallery above   The 24-year-old midfielder was handed a starting berth for the quarter-final clash in the Coupe de la Ligue and put in a solid showing in the centre of the midfield as they managed to keep Neymar, Kylian Mbappe and Co from securing a place in the semi-finals.   Read: Kgatlana's Speech As CAF Award Winners Revealed...   Instead, it will be EAG who join Lebo Mothiba's Strasbourg, Monaco and Bordeaux in the final four, with Phiri's side becoming the first team to beat PSG in the Coupe de la Ligue since back in 2012.    EAG join Liverpool on the list of only two teams to have beaten PSG over the course of the 2018/19 season so far, and Phiri will be delighted to have played his part in the victory as they marched into the semi-finals of the competition.   Phiri has played a major role in Guingamp's recent turnaround, starting three of their last four games – coming on as a substitute in the other – as they won three in normal time and one on penalties to hit their best run of form since April.   With Bafana Bafana's crucial clash with Libya coming up in March, Phiri will be hoping that his form can continue so that he can force his way into Stuart Baxter's plans for the African Cup of Nations qualifier.
