It was a moment to savour for the 20-year-old as he scored a stoppage-time winner from outside the box to gift his team the win.
While Campbell has performed well for Club NXT (Brugge's youth team), he has struggled to secure consistent minutes in the first team. However, he has proven his talent with an outstanding winning effort, ensuring Brugge took three wins from their first four league games.
Speaking after the game, Hayen spoke openly about Campbell and admitted that the former SuperSport United player can change a game on his own, according to Walfoot.
"Shandre Campbell is very ambitious," Hayen said. "I wouldn’t say reckless, but he sometimes plays with a certain boldness. That’s how he quickly picked up a yellow card after coming on," he added.
"He can decide a match with flashes of genius out of nowhere. He already showed it with Club NXT, and now also with the first team,” Hayen added.
Hayen insisted that Campbell's performances would lead to more chances in the first team but wanted the South African to remain grounded.
"If you can do that, you can also start a match," he said. "But one swallow doesn’t make a spring. Now it’s important—for us as much as for him—to keep our feet on the ground, to keep building and working."

"He shows himself to the public, but he must seize his chances step by step," he concluded.
