According to reports from Zimbabwe, Amidu has penned a two-year deal with the UAE Division One side.

The player's agent, George Zindi, told Zimbabwe's Daily News that Amidu is plying his trade in UAE.

"I signed a mandate with him in December 2014 and we signed the deal at his current club on 28 January," Zindi told the Daily News.

"Abbas is the first Zimbabwean player that I have brought to UAE and I am actually looking forward to bring more local players to the Middle East," Zindi is quoted saying.

Amidu believes that UAE's First Division is run professionally compared to the South African Absa Premiership.

"After my contract with Leopards expired in December, I had a number of offers to stay in South Africa but turned them down in favour of the UAE first division league, which by far is more rewarding and professional than the Absa Premiership," Amidu told the Daily News.
