U20 COSAFA Cup Report: South Africa v Lesotho 10 December 2019

Defending champions South Africa cruised to the COSAFA U-20 Men's Championship semi-finals with a 4-0 thrashing of Lesotho on Tuesday.

After dropping points on Sunday against Madagascar, Amajita knew nothing but three points would suffice against Lesotho.

South Africa did all the attackking from the onset, but had to wait until the 19th minute for the opening thanks to a strike from Sinenjongo Mkiva, who bagged his third goal of the tournament.

Captain Rowen Human compounded further misery on Lesotho five minutes before halftime with a well-taken finish on the near post.

Helman Mkhalele made a single change right at the start of the second half, introducing Tshepo Myeni in place of Mohammed Shahabodien.

Just a minute after striking the crossbar, Sifama capped his first start with a nice finish six minutes following the halftime interval.

The young Likuena side surrendered to defeat amidst threatening a late consolation, as Amajita setup a semi-final meeting with Madagascar on Thursday.
