David Notoane Speaks After U23 Loss To Egypt

David Notoane Speaks After U23 Loss To Egypt

The South African U23 side suffered a 3-0 loss to Egypt in the semi-finals of the Africa Cup Of Nations last night, although Head Coach David Notoane was full of praise for the opponents.

The U23's will now lock horns with Ghana in the third/fourth play-offs, as they look to push for a win in order to qualify for the 2020 Tokyo Summer Olympic Games.

Speaking after the game, Notoane revealed how a clash between South Africa and Egypt would have been a dream final, however, he continues to wish his counterpart the best.

"We put the plans and strategies in place and you can see how much it means for the Egyptians." Notoane told the media.

"The coach knows and if you remember after the first game, I said that we made a dream and a dream final for me was to play Egypt.

"When we played a practice match we collected a lot of information and from then on I told coach, I believe that your team is capable of winning, or maybe my team, hence we came with, maybe the dream final is Egypt vs South Africa, so today is through to the final. I hope they give the same spirit in the final," he said.
