Football may have been shutdown because of the Coronavirus outbreak, but it's not all bad news after it was confirmed that Desiree Ellis' Banyana Banyana have moved up in the FIFA rankings.
Banyana moved up two places in the rankings this month to 53rd-place, and not sit between Belarus and Northern Ireland having made plenty of progress over the last 18 months.
It's been three months since the rankings were last released, which gave Ellis' side time to record a comfortable 3-0 win over Lesotho last month, and while they still remain third in Africa – behind Nigeria and Cameroon – they have now taken a step closer to breaking into the world's top 50.
Ellis will be pleased with the boost up the table this month in the first rankings release of 2020, though it remains to be seen how long it will be before they are able to get back out on the field again due to the ongoing battle with COVID-19.
Haiti made the biggest positive move this time around as they moved four places to 64th, while Panama had the toughest time, falling seven places to 60th.
