There have been 19 senior players selected for the preliminary Olympic Games squad, although only up to three will make the final cut.
The 2020 Tokyo Olympic Games will be held from July 24 – August 09, 2020, with the final squad set to be concluded by July 01.
South Africa U23 Head Coach, David Notoane named his preliminary squad yesterday made up of 62 players, 8 goalkeepers, 27 defenders, 24 midfielders and 19 strikers.

"We have a lot of hard work ahead of us to ensure that we take only the best to represent South Africa at this big stage. This is just a preliminary group of players that we think will be considered for the tournament, and as you can see it includes youngsters and seniors," Notoane said on SAFA's official website.
