Dignitaries and the who's who of football both from locally and abroad were in attendance as legendary South African coach Pitso Mosimane celebrated his birthday on Friday.
Mosimane turned 60 on Friday, and courtesy of his wonderful management team from MT Sports, the event to celebrate the occasion at FNB Stadium was the most successful one, following the University of Johannesburg's huge gesture of conferring an honorary doctorate upon him on Wednesday.

Among the attendees at FNB Stadium were Senegal national team coach Aliou Cisse, DR Congo-born coach Florent Ibenge, Kaizer Chiefs and Bafana Bafana legend Doctor Khumalo, Orlando Pirates legend Teboho Moloi, Zambian and African football legend Kalusha Bwalya and his wife Emy Casaletti, Dan Malesela, ex-players players in Daine Klate, Bernard Parker, Reneilwe Letsholonyane, Tsepo Masilela, Ricardo Katza and Morgan Gould to mention a few.
Mosimane, who was understandably emotional during the glamorous event which was also attended by his family, had all the good things to say about what he saw on the day.
"Well, I must say that I was humbled by the MT Sports family, the office for organising this day. They did it for me, I didn't know what's happening, and I was just humbled when I came over here to see what they have. What is nice is that they've got the generations right. Like the Jomo Cosmos one, it was the last jersey for the Mainstay Cup," he said, referring to his museum inside the stadium where jerseys of the clubs he played for and those he coached, and the medals won are on display and in their sequence.

"When I looked at the guests' list today, I was humbled. I see the King of Kwaito (Arthur Mafokate), I see Sipho Mabuse, I see Big Zulu, I admire him, (and) I like to sing his songs. I see these people come here and I'm like, 'Oh, can the musicians come over here and celebrate what I have done?' So, I hope that you understand that it's more than the game, when you see the Secretary-General (of the African National Congress, Fikile Mbalula), the Premier (of Gauteng, Panyaza Lesufi) is here, it's really more than the game. I feel like I could start again and do more. I feel like I could go back and do things a little bit different but not wiping out what has been done right," said Mosimane, speaking to the media.
