The Buccaneers will only have an MTN8 title to show for their efforts this season, but the Sea Robbers competed admirably on multiple fronts, both domestically and continentally.
After their top-eight triumph, the Soweto giants have been the biggest threat to Mamelodi Sundowns’ Betway Premiership title, made it to the final of the Nedbank Cup, and reached the semi-finals of the CAF Champions League.
At the time of writing, Pirates have played a total of 48 matches in all competitions, and starting in nearly all of them was Hotto.
The Namibia Warriors representative has featured in 46 matches for the Buccaneers, missing only one of those games, while being the ultimate utility player for Riveiro. He has been deployed either as a left winger or a left-back — where he has spent the majority of the season.
His remarkable ability to consistently cover ground on the left flank has allowed him to contribute goals even from the left-back position.

Of the six goals and eight assists he has registered, four of his strikes and five of his assists have come while playing in the back four — and the fact that he is doing all of this at 34 years old makes it even more impressive.
