Monnapule Saleng’s upcoming loan switch to newly-promoted Betway Premiership side Orbit College has been confirmed, and while the move may come as a surprise to some, it’s very much in line with Orlando Pirates’ approach to player development.

The Buccaneers have long used strategic loans to get their fringe players regular game time, particularly those returning from injury, struggling for form, or needing to adapt to the topflight.
Saleng, who has previously flourished while out on loan, will be hoping to rediscover his best form in the North West, while helping the PSL rookies find their feet.
