Orlando Pirates are moving ahead with preparations for the upcoming season, despite not yet officially naming a new head coach to succeed Jose Riveiro.
The Soweto giants are scheduled to depart for Spain in early July, where they will undergo a pre-season camp aimed at fine-tuning the squad ahead of the 2025/26 campaign.

While the club has yet to announce any new signings or changes to the technical team, indications are that key decisions have already been made behind the scenes.
“Work is being done behind the scenes, and you can expect announcements any time from now,” a source close to the club told the Siya crew.
Two high-profile friendlies have already been confirmed for the camp in Marbella, with Bolton Wanderers providing the opposition on July 11, followed by a clash against Cypriot champions Pafos FC on July 13, both taking place at the Marbella Football Centre.
“Those are the fixtures the team is scheduled to play and one or two more,” the source added.
The encounter with Pafos FC is especially notable. The Cypriot outfit recently made history by winning their first-ever domestic title, beating Bafana Bafana winger Mihlali Mayambela’s Aris Limassol to top the First Division.
That triumph secured their place in the UEFA Champions League qualifiers, making them formidable pre-season opponents for the Buccaneers.
While official communication remains limited, it’s clear that preparations are already in motion, and that the upcoming tour could provide early insights into the next chapter for Ezimnyama, both on and off the field.
