
Orlando Pirates' Lost Andrew Sparkes To Southampton In England

Having left Orlando Pirates at the end of last season, Andrew Sparkes has now been confirmed as the goalkeeper coach at an English Premier League side. Read: The Story Of Chiefs' New Signing… The 34-year-old joined the Buccaneers at the start of last season, and played a major role in helping upgrade the club's goalkeeping department as they improved their goals conceded tally and came close to ending their lengthy trophy drought, finishing second in the Absa Premiership. It was previously reported by the Siya crew that the former Swansea City man had returned home to the United Kingdom to be closer to his family, and it has now been revealed by Southampton FC that he has been appointed as the new man to lead their goalkeeping department. A statement on the club's website announced that he will be be replacing the former goalkeeper coach after he was appointed as assistant to the current head coach, Ralph Hasenhüttl. Watson's new role means the club has appointed Andrew Sparkes as our new First Team Goalkeeping Coach." Bucs have already announced Sparkes' replacement, bringing on board Jyri Nieminen.
