Karim Kimvuidi has travelled with Orlando Pirates for the club’s pre-season tour of Spain, the Siya crew has been informed, as the attacking midfielder looks to stake his claim under newly-appointed head coach Abdeslam Ouaddou.
The Congolese playmaker was among the standout performers in some Pirates’ final matches of last season, with a particularly impressive showing against Golden Arrows that appears to have strengthened his case for staying at the Soweto giants.

While Kimvuidi’s name has been mentioned in recent transfer discussions, with interest reportedly coming from TP Mazembe and Algeria’s JS Kabylie, the Buccaneers have opted to keep the 23-year-old close as the new technical team assesses the squad.
“He’s travelled with the team to Spain. That should say a lot about how the club sees his future,” a source close to the situation told the Siya crew.
“The new coach is still taking a look at everyone, but Karim is in a good space and wants to fight for his place,” the source added.

The Spanish tour could be an opportunity for Kimvuidi to impress the incoming coach and potentially cement a more consistent role in the side, after a season in which he often had to settle for substitute appearances.
Pirates are expected to play a number of friendly matches in Europe as part of their preparations for the 2025/26 season.
