League Prosecutor Zola Majavu Provides Update On Orlando Pirates' DC Matter

Orlando Pirates

The Premier Soccer League's prosecutor Zola Majavu has provided an update on the disciplinary matter involving Orlando Pirates.

Last week, Majavu confirmed that Pirates was charged for off-the-field scenes which took place in December at Orlando Stadium after TS Galaxy president Tim Sukazi was denied entry into the stadium during a clash between the two teams.

In providing an update, Majavu has confirmed that Pirates have pleaded not guilty on charges levelled against them.

Also, with the club's media officer Thandi Merafe currently in Cameroon and on duty at the Africa Cup of Nations, Majavu has confirmed that the matter has been postponed as she is one of the main witnesses.

"The first case is that one of misconduct charges levelled against Orlando Pirates arising from an incident with Mr. Tim Sukazi, the chairman of TS Galaxy. Charges were formally put to Orlando Pirates and to which they pleaded not guilty. The matter had to be postponed to the 15th of February for evidence to be led," said Majavu, speaking through the PSL's media department.

"One of the main witnesses (for) Orlando Pirates is currently out of the country on CAF business, and under the circumstances the committee deemed it prudent to grant a postponement to the 15th of February where the matter will resume and hopefully proceed to be finalised. Once it is finalised, I will give a further update of the outcome thereof," he added.
