A former Orlando Pirates defender says Josef Zinnbauer's current team has a big chance to win the league title this season.

The Buccaneers have been one of the busiest clubs in the transfer window so far, having signed no less than seven players, including Bafana Bafana captain Thulani 'Tyson' Hlatshwayo, Zimbabwe international attacker Terrence Dzvukamanja and Ghanaian national team goalkeeper Richard Ofori, among other exciting stars.

The Buccaneers have sent four players on loan in Mthokozisi Dube, Gladwin Shitolo (both at Golden Arrows), Justice Chabalala (Bloemfontein Celtic) and Tebogo Tlolane (Maritzburg United).
From the squad of last season – although some players were on loan at other clubs – Bucs have parted ways with Luvuyo Memela, Justin Shonga, Augustine Mulenga, Joris Delle, Alfred Ndengane, Diamond Thopola, Xola Mlambo, Tercious Malepe, Meshack Maphangule, Thembela Sikhakhane and Brian Hlongwa.

Former Pirates defender, Lizo Mjempu, has explained why he thinks the Soweto giants could win the league title this season.
"Pirates have signed very well and I am very happy with the club's new signings. I believe that they will do well this season because they have done very well in the transfer window. I think the team will challenge for the league and the other trophies. They have a chance to win the league," he said.

"There will be challenges like the new players having to get used to the culture of the club and all that, but like I say, with the quality players they have signed they will have a good chance of winning the league," Mjempu told the Siya crew.
