Former Orlando Pirates defender Ntsikelelo Nyauza has reached a stage in his life where he's a bit more realistic about football and what the current situation means for him.
Nyauza has not officially retired from professional football, but with no offers coming his way at the moment, he has used the time to focus on building a sustainable future for himself and his family.

Nyauza was on the books of Moroka Swallows before they sold their Premiership status to Marumo Gallants, who did not keep him with some of the other players they kept from the Dube Birds.
Since then, the 35-year-old Nyauza has been focusing on business but is also keeping himself fit in the gym.
"I am training by myself. I am managing my other side hustles. For now, I am not focusing a lot on football because, by the looks of things with age not on my side, I am focusing on other things that will sustain my life going forward. If you are going to worry and have stress that you still want to play, you are just going to hurt yourself and you are not going to live your life. I had my chance, so it's a chance for other players. You have to accept and move on," Nyauza said to Soccer Laduma.

Before he considers retirement, Nyauza is going to wait for the next transfer window to see if there will be any opportunities to join a club in the top flight or the Motsepe Foundation Championship.
"I just want to see with the window period that's coming. I will check the market, if it's still open for me. If it's not open, then I will just accept and hang up my boots and move on. At first, it was difficult. I could not accept because I still had that thing of wanting to play. But as time went by, it faded and I managed to start taking things in a light way. If it happens, then it will happen. If it doesn't, then it's also okay."
