Tinkler was pleased with his team's victory over high-flying Mamelodi Sundowns, having played with 10 men and says that the players hunger is what helped them to come away with the result.
"We knew it was going to be tough playing against Sundowns in the form that they are in now," he told the Siya crew. "But Pirates players are getting hungrier as we approach the end of the season. That helped us win against Sundowns."
The 45-year-old went on to say that he is hoping to add a piece of silverware to his trophy cabinet in his first season as a head coach, but that Pirates are taking it one game at a time to reach their goals.
"I also want to win a trophy in my first year as a head Coach and the players are working hard to achieve that as well. We are taking one game at a time and if we continue like this we will make it," the Bafana Bafana legend concluded.
