Baroka head coach Dylan Kerr has lamented the refereeing decision, following the team's loss in the Nedbank Cup.
Bakgaga were knocked out of the prestigious competition after losing 3-0 to Bloemfontein Celtic at the Orlando Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
The Limpopo outfit had Ananias Gebhardt sent off in the 32nd minute after being shown a straight red card by referee Victor Hlungwani for a tackle on Lucky Baloyi.
While admitting that the tackle looked reckless, the coach feels that the match official should have been lenient towards the Namibian international.
"The referee has got to understand that it's the first game back. There was no malicious intent to hurt the player. I think it was just bad timing and an over eagerness," the coach told the media after the match.
The next match for 13th-placed Baroka will be in the league against AmaZulu next Saturday at the Lucas Moripe Stadium.
