Spurs Boost Survival Hopes, Leopards Jump Third

Hungry Lions 1-2 Orbit College

Orbit College kept their promotion hopes alive with a 2-1 victory away to Hungry Lions on Wednesday afternoon.

Goals from Tshepo Matsemela and Sekhoane Moerane guided the away side to an important victory.

The win sees Orbit move up to second spot on the Championship table, three points behind league leaders Durban City, whose match on Tuesday was suspended.

Baroka FC 1-1 Upington

Baroka FC and Upington City settled for a share of the spoils in the Championship on Wednesday evening.

Trevor Mokoena put the visitors ahead in the first half, before Baroka popped up with the equaliser six minutes from time courtesy of a strike from Tshepo Mashiloane.

Black Leopards 2-1 Highbury

Black Leopards' late push for the play-offs got a big boost after defeating Highbury FC 2-1 on Wednesday afternoon.

The visitors took the lead through Tshepo Sediti in the opening 45 minutes.

Leopards manage to turn the game around in the second half to secure the win, which has seen the side move up to third spot.

Leruma United 1-2 Venda Football Club

Venda Football Academy boosted their survival hopes with a 2-1 win over Leruma United on Wednesday.

The hosts remain rooted to the foot of the table, but VFC have now moved up to 14th spot with four games left in the season.

Cape Town Spurs 4-0 Pretoria Callies

Cape Town Spurs gave their survival hopes a massive boost after thrashing Pretoria Callies 4-0 on Tuesday afternoon.

Khaya Mfecane gifted Ernst Middendorp's side the lead on the stroke of halftime with his third goal of the campaign.

THe hosts took control in the second half, with Denzel Du Plessis, Luuk Baartman and Keenan Bezuidenhout finding the back of the net to complete the rout.

University of Pretoria 2-1 Casric Stars

The University of Pretoria got back to winning ways in the Championship with a 2-1 triumph over Casric Stars.

Goals from Tshepang Makara and Kgomotso Mosadi secured maximum points for the home side.
