AmaTuks Move Top After Orbit College Slip Up

Orbit College 0-1 Casric Stars

Orbit College lost their top spot on the table after a narrow and late 1-0 defeat to Casric Stars on Sunday afternoon at Olympia Park Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Tlotlo Leepile finally got the all important goal for Stars with 17 minutes to go.

Orbit dropped down to third on the table, a point behind new leaders University of Pretoria while the win took Casric up to sixth.

Marumo Gallants 0-2 Magesi

Magesi climbed up to second on the log after beating ten-man Marumo Gallants in the Limpopo derby on Sunday afternoon at Isak Steyl Stadium.

Gallants were down to ten men after just 20 minutes after Konan Nguessan was red-carded for a challenge on goalkeeper Elvis Chipezeze.

Deolin Mekoa eventually broke the deadlock for Dikwena just after that and Wonderboy Makhubo sealed the three points with the second goal in the last minute.

Magesi are just a point behind leaders University of Pretoria and Bahlabane Ba Ntwa find themselves in a precarious 14th spot on the log, above the relegation zone on goal difference.

Saturday,  17 October

Baroka 2-1 Pretoria Callies

Baroka remained in touching distance with promotion places after a 2-1 win over Pretoria Callies on Saturday afternoon at Global Stadium.

The Romans broke the deadlock shortly before the half-hour mark but Tshediso Patjie equalised for Bakgaga on the stroke of half-time.

Sydney Malivha found the winner for Dan Malesela's charges 20 minutes before time.

Bakgaga remained in fourth spot on the table, just three points behind log-leaders University of Pretoria and Callies fell down to 13th on the table, just a point above the drop zone.

Black Leopards 3-1 Platinum City Rovers

Black Leopards bounced back to winning ways after thrashing Platinum City Rovers 3-1 on Saturday afternoon at Thohoyandou Stadium.

Sedzani Mudau got two quick goals for Leopards after seven minutes and made it 3-0 midway into the first stanza and completed his brace.

City Rovers pulled a goal back just before the hour-mark.

Lidoda Duvha were reduced to ten men with 12 minutes remaining after Jean-Jaures Golly was red-carded, however, the Limpopo side had already done enough to hold on to three points.

The win took Leopards up to eighth on the log while City Rovers dropped down to the bottom of the table.

Hungry Lions 0-1 Venda Football Academy

Venda Football Academy boosted their chances of surviving relegation after edging Hungry Lions 1-0 on Saturday afternoon at Mxolisi Dicky Jacobs Stadium.

After a goalless first stanza, Gama Banele eventually broke the deadlock for Venda in the last 12 minutes and that secured them the maximum points.

VFA moved up to 15th on the log, two points short of safety and Lions fell down to seventh.

Milford 0-0 Maritzburg United

Maritzburg United remained winless since the restart after a goalless draw against Milford in the KwaZulu-Natal derby on Saturday afternoon at Princess Magogo Stadium.

The Team of Choice had to settle for 11th spot on the table while Milford remained two points behind United in 12th, after 19 rounds.

Friday, 16 February

University of Pretoria 2-1 Upington City

Nine-man University of Pretoria climbed to the top of the table after edging Upington City 1-0 on Friday afternoon at ABSA Tuks Stadium.

Camagu Mdevulala gave AmaTuks the lead within six minutes from the first whistle but Vuyisile Ntobayithethi levelled matters for Upington just before the half-hour mark.

Samuel Julies restored the lead for the Tshwane side after the hour-mark.

AmaTuks were down to ten men 19 minutes before time after Sikhosakhe Langa got a second booking and was red-carded.

The hosts finished the game with nine men after Neo Dikgale got a straight red-card in stoppage time.

Tlisane Motaung's charges are one point clear at the top while Bafana Ba Gucci had to settle for fifth spot.

NB La Masia 0-0 JDR Stars

NB La Masia and JDR Stars remained winless in 2024 after playing to a goalless draw on Friday afternoon at Dobsonville Stadium.

Stars and La Masia are separated by two points in ninth and tenth places respectively.
