GladAfrica Championship Wrap 22-23 February

Richards Bay 1-1 Jomo Cosmos

GladAfrica Championship leaders Richards Bay dropped points for the second match running in the GladAfrica Championship on Tuesday after settling for a 1-1 draw against Jomo Cosmos.

Richards Bay took the lead into halftime courtesy of Sakhile Hlongwa's early finish, but Ongelethu Somtsewu brought the Ezenkosi level and to that a point in the end.

Uthongathi FC 2-2 University of Pretoria

University of Pretoria dropped from fifth to sixth spot on the table following a hard-earned 2-2 draw away to Uthongathi FC.

The clash came alive in the second half after a goalless opening spell, and had AmaTuks ahead through Keagan Allan and Etiosa Ighodaro.

However, the Cane Cutters weren't perplexed and found their way back through Ndumiso Myeni and a last-gasp finish from Francis Baloyi.

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC 1-1 JDR Stars

JDR Stars continued to sit in second spot level on points with the leaders Richards Bay after playing to a 1-1 draw away to Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC.

The Hammer Boyz entered halftime in the lead through Kabelo Mashigo, but Vhadau vhadamani levelled in the second half through striker Rhulani Manzini.

Cape Town Spurs 1-2 Free State Stars

Free State Stars' promotion push received a boost in the form of a 2-1 victory out to Cape Town Spurs in the Mother city.

Ea Ll Koto were quickly on the front foot and increased their advantage after halftime before Mosiatlhage Abednigo pulled the host level and ultimately went down in the end.

Black Leopards 1-1 Cape Town All Stars

Black Leopards remain at the bottom of the GladAfrica Championship table after a 1-1 draw against Cape Town All Stars on Wednesday afternoon.

Lidoda Duvha's campaign resumed on a bad note after going down 2-0 to Pretoria Callies on Sunday, whereas All Stars got past Free State Stars and are remained in the bottom-half.

Pretoria Callies 1-1 Venda Football Academy

Pretoria Callies were unable to claim a succession of victories in the Championship after playing to a 1-1 draw against the Venda Football Academy.

The home side took the lead in the first half through Boitumelo Pheko, but the visitors snatched a stalemate courtesy of well-travelled midfielder Jabulani Shongwe.

Academy also finished the game with 10 men after Enocent Mkhabela was given his marching orders late in the game.

Hungry Lions FC 0-4 Polokwane City

After a disappointing resumption on Sunday, Polokwane City got back to winning ways to rekindle their promotion ambitions with a 4-0 hammering of Hungry Lions FC.

Rise and Shine lost out to the Venda Football Academy over the weekend, while Lions dropped a blow on fellow new boys Platinum City Rovers.

Platinum City Rovers 0-1 TS Sporting

Platinum City Rovers suffered back-to-back losses and remained mid-table inthe Championship table as TS Sporting struck early for a 1-0 victory in Potchefstroom.

Benson Mhlongo's men secured the spoils thanks to a finish from midfielder Mpho Mathebula to get over the line against their counterparts and returned to winning ways overall.
