Black Leopards 0-1 JDR Stars

Black Leopards sunk further down the GladAfrica Championship table on Saturday after encountering a 1-0 loss against JDR Stars in Polokwane.

Whilst it's a bad outcome for Leopards, it's not the case for Stars who leaped to second spot with the winning effort coming from Ishmael Wadi halfway in the first period.

Cape Town All Stars 0-0 Richards Bay FC

Cape Town All Stars couldn't register back-to-back wins following a goalless draw at home with Richards Bay FC.

This particular result keeps the host in fifth spot and the visiting contingent from the KwaZulu-Natal province in 12th spot.

Free State Stars 1-2 University Pretoria

Free State Stars lost ground with the front-runners following a 2-1 defeat at home to the University of Pretoria, who came from behind.

It was Stars that drew first blood before Tuks debutant Etiosa levelled and star forward Luvuyo Phewa getting the final strike that helped them to the top of the table.

Platinum City Rovers 0-0 Jomo Cosmos

Platinum City Rovers were not able to get back in the winning circle from their horrendous loss against AmaTuks last time out as a goalless draw against Jomo Cosmos followed.

This share of the spoils keeps Ezenkosi at the root of the table, winless from eight matches played while Rovers languish inside the top-four.

Sunday 17 October
Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC 0-0 Hungry Lions FC

Tshakhuma Tsha Madzivhandila FC prevented Hungry Lions FC from regaining top spot on Sunday with a goalless draw in Thohoyandou.

Lions remain the only side in the Championship yet to taste defeat, while Tshakhuma came off a 4-0 loss against Richards Bay FC.

Uthongathi FC 3-1 Polokwane City

Polokwane City continued to lose ground with the front-runners following a 3-1 loss against Uthongathi FC on the road.

Both these sides entered this weekend on the back of defeats, with City going down to Cape Town All Stars and Uthongathi succumbing to the Venda Football Academy.

Pretoria Callies 6-1 Cape Town Spurs

Pretoria Callies thumped Cape Town Spurs 6-1 at the Lucas Moripe Stadium to move up from the bottom-half of the standings.

Edmore Chirambadare netted a hat-trick, while Keletso Sifama, Kgomotso Mosadi and Meshack Maphangule got in on the act too.

Spurs consolation came courtesy of Thendo Mukumela and had Sonwabile Mfecane red-carded earlier on in the second period.

TS Sporting 1-1 Venda Football Academy

Venda Football Academy came from a goal down to play to a 1-1 draw against TS Sporting out at the Kabokweni Stadium.

It's a result that aborted the host from going a notch up the table from their bottom-half placing to Venda suffering the same consequence as their adversaries.
