CAF Confederation Cup Starting XI: Orlando Pirates v Simba SC 24 April 2022

Orlando Pirates will be looking to overturn a first-leg defeat for a spot in the CAF Confederation Cup semi-finals against Simba on Sunday evening.

Teams: Orlando Pirates v Simba SC

Date: 24 April 2022

Venue: Orlando Stadium

Time: 18h00

Pirates are on the back foot after narrowly losing the first leg 1-0 after a late penalty by Shomani Kapombe, after former Buccaneer striker Bernard Morrison went down in the box from a challenge by Happy Jele.

The Soweto giants will have to score to stand any chance of progressing to the semi-finals.

Pirates were knocked out at this stage of the tournament last season by eventual winners Raja Casablanca, who won 5-1 on aggregate.

Simba, meanwhile, does not only have the advantage of being one goal ahead but also they didn't concede an away goal.

The Reds of Msimbazi's last visit to South Africa did not end well as they were on the receiving end of a 4-0 thumping at the hands of Kaizer Chiefs in the CAF Champions League quarter-finals last season.

However, the Tanzanian outfit will be without the services of Morrison, who was unable to travel to South Africa.
