Absa Premiership
Teams: Free State Stars v Mamelodi Sundowns
Date: 11 May 2019
Venue: Goble Park
Mamelodi Sundowns will be looking to wrap up the defence of their Absa Premiership title when they clash with Free State Stars at Goble Park on Saturday.
The match gets underway at 15h00. The Brazilians need to win the match if they are to be crowned champions. Orlando Pirates, who are two points behind Pitso Mosimane's side, have a superior goal difference by a margin of two goals, so a draw for Matsatsantsa is unlikely to suffice. Having narrowly lost out on CAF Champions League success, the Brazilians will be desperate to finish their season on a high. Stars, meanwhile, are still in danger of being relegated. Nikola Kavazovic's side sit two points from bottom and one above the relegation playoff zone. It is very tight towards the basement and Ea Lla Koto cannot rely on other results and must go for the win. Thus, with so much at stake, it should make for an intriguing encounter. Mosimane's men have won their last four league games including a 2-0 win over Golden Arrows on Tuesday evening in their last encounter. Meanwhile, Stars are coming off the back of a credible 1-1 draw with Kaizer Chiefs. The last time the sides met, Sundowns emerged 3-1 victors at Lucas Masterpieces Moripe Stadium. Here's how they line up:
Stars: 23. Sangare, 2. Mobbie, 28. Mahamutsa, 20. Mbhele, 21. Phungwayo, 4. Makhaula, 5. Masehe, 15. Mokhuoane, 7. Hlubi, 27. Tchilimbou, 19. Jappie.
