Mamelodi Sundowns have offered Peter Shalulile a one-year contract extension, but it remains unclear whether the Namibian striker will put pen to paper, with all focus currently on the upcoming FIFA Club World Cup.

The Siya crew understands that the proposed extension is part of Sundowns’ newfound veteran contract policy, which sees the club offering short-term deals to players in their 30s. Both Themba Zwane and Denis Onyango recently signed similar agreements as the Brazilians transition toward a more flexible squad management model.
Shalulile, who turned 31 this year, scored 11 goals and registered two assists in 42 appearances during the 2024/25 season — many of them as a substitute. He remains a respected figure at Chloorkop since joining from Highlands Park in 2020 and is now just one goal shy of becoming the club’s all-time leading scorer.
According to Siya sources, the Brazilians have formally tabled a one-year extension, with an option for a further season. However, it is understood that Shalulile has yet to make a final decision, as he is fully focused on Sundowns’ preparation for the FIFA Club World Cup, where they’ve been drawn against Borussia Dortmund, Ulsan Hyundai, and Fluminense.

The timing of contract negotiations suggests that Sundowns are eager to resolve the matter before the tournament kicks off, though any final decision from Shalulile may only come after the team's international campaign concludes.
