Mamelodi Sundowns are believed to be working behind the scenes to strengthen their defensive department before the window closes, and the Siya crew finds out the latest on the situation.
As previously reported by Soccer Laduma, the Brazilians are close to finalizing a deal for Stellenbosch FC left-back Fawaaz Basadien.

However, Siya sources close to the situation have indicated that it appears their defensive recruitment drive would not end there.
Insiders close to Sundowns with access to reliable information have added that the Chloorkop-based outfit has expressed interest in Bafana Bafana defender Khulumani Ndamane, who is also reportedly on Orlando Pirates' radar.
"Now, it's believed Sundowns have enquired about the young defender Ndamane. They are working on increasing the competition in defence and that's why they are looking at Khulumani (Ndamane). The thing is that Orlando Pirates have also shown interest in him and that's how things in football go. It's a competition all the time, mainly between the so-called big teams," the insider told Soccer Laduma.
A second insider stated that Ndamane is being viewed as a direct replacement for a defensive player who departed the club after his loan spell.

"Initially, they wanted to keep Lucas Suarez but after some consultation between management and the technical team they decided not to make the loan deal permanent. That's why they now want Khulumani Ndamane. They are both left-footed central defenders. He could be a direct replacement for Suarez," the second source told the Siya crew.
The 21-year-old former Kaizer Chiefs development player impressed at TS Galaxy last season, making a high amount of appearances and earning a call-up to the senior national team, where he made his Bafana Bafana debut.
Soccer Laduma contacted Sundowns for comment on the situation but the club had not responded by the time this report was published.
