Big Names Left Out Of Sundowns WC Squad

As Mamelodi Sundowns gear up for their long-awaited FIFA Club World Cup debut in the United States, the official 23-man squad has been confirmed, and it includes some notable omissions.

Sundowns will represent Africa at the global spectacle between 15 June and 13 July 2025, with matches set to be played at Inter & Co Stadium, TQL Stadium and Hard Rock Stadium. The club, fresh off a historic eighth consecutive domestic title, will now shift focus to asserting their dominance on the international stage.

The final squad named by coach Miguel Cardoso features trusted stars like Ronwen Williams, Themba Zwane, Lucas Ribeiro Costa, Teboho Mokoena, and Peter Shalulile.

However, a number of seasoned campaigners and fan favourites have not made the cut for the trip to the USA.
