Agent: Kodisang Is Not That Type Of Player

Agent: Kodisang Is Not That Type Of Player

Mamelodi Sundowns' pre-season signing Kobamelo Kodisang is yet to consistently break into the team at Chloorkop, but the Siya crew has been told of the player's patience to reach toward his time to shine.

Kodisang left top flight football in Portugal with Moreirense to join Sundowns, with goals of playing in the FIFA Club World Cup next year as well as getting into the senior national team.

The winger's start to life at Sundowns has been slow, with three appearances in all competitions for the Tshwane giants. Many would expect a player returning from Europe to immediately break into the starting line-up, but the 25-year-old has had to wait patiently for his opportunity to feature regularly and Makaab says he is more than ready to do so.

"He is patient. When you look in general at Mamelodi Sundowns, in the days of Pitso (Mosimane), Rulani (Mokwena) and now with Manqoba (Mngqithi), Sundowns are a team that takes their time introducing players. I remember taking Sibusiso Vilakazi there. It took him time to settle in. It took Andile Jali time to settle in. Rivaldo Coetzee, we know how patient Sundowns were with him. Even when Rivaldo came back (from injury), he had to be patient because it was going to take time for him to be integrated into the style of play the coach wanted," Makaab said to the Siya crew.

"Kodisang is a top class professional and, although he wants to be playing, his time will come. Obviously, he wants to be playing. Any professional footballer who says he is happy not playing concerns me, but Kodisang is not that sort of player. His time will come, there is no doubt in my mind. He is a talented footballer."

With Sundowns involved in a number of competitions this season, Kodisang will get an opportunity to prove himself to the technical team.
