Yeye On Ndlovu: 'I Guess It's Never Too Late'

Yeye On Ndlovu: 'I Guess It's Never Too Late'

Siphesihle Ndlovu has signed for Kaizer Chiefs after leaving SuperSport United.

Former Kaizer Chiefs midfielder Reneilwe Letsholonyane has explained why he feels a player like Siphesihle Ndlovu has a good chance of succeeding at Amakhosi compared to the more fancy players.

Ndlovu was unveiled by Amakhosi on their social media platforms over the weekend after leaving SuperSport United, and joined an ever growing list of players who have signed for both Soweto giants in the PSL, having previously been on the books of Orlando Pirates.

Before retiring, Letsholonyane had an opportunity to play against Ndlovu and reveals he wanted the versatile player to sign for Amakhosi. Ndlovu, however, signed for Pirates from Maritzurg United (now Durban City) in 2019. Letsholonyane believes Ndlovu has the right attributes to be a success at Naturena.

"Before he went to Pirates, he is one player I thought would go to Chiefs. That's the type of player who become successful at Chiefs. He's not fancy, but mentally strong and he is hard working. He always gives a positive attitude, even when things are not going well," Letsholonyane said to Soccer Laduma.

"I've always thought he would make a good player for Chiefs, hence I thought he would join Chiefs back then. But finally he is there where I thought he would have ben three or four years ago. I guess it's never too late and I am sure this is God's timing. I've always thought he would contribute to Chiefs based on the type of player he is and I hope it will work for him and the club. I think this is the right move for him."

Ndlovu, who turns 29 in September, played in midfield while at SuperSport, but has previously shown that he's got an ability to play in other positions. At Maritzburg, he was able to slot in at right or left back and this is the attitude that makes Letsholonyane believe he will be valuable asset to Amakhosi.

"I played against him when he was at Maritzburg United and when he was at Pirates. I've liked him from the first few times I saw him at Maritzburg. He was obviously still young and trying to establish himself. The attitude and energy he gave was impressive. He is a different player to the normal midfielders we've known. He is a versatile player who can play in different roles and we saw this while he was at Maritzburg. He always gave his best in any position he played in," Letsholonyane said to Soccer Laduma.
