Now We Are Talking! How Chiefs Should Use Sirino

Former Kaizer Chiefs striker Katlego "Killer" Mphela, who also had a successful stint with Mamelodi Sundowns, was among the first to advocate for the signing of Gaston Sirino by his former club, Kaizer Chiefs.

Now that the Glamour Boys have secured the Uruguayan midfielder, Mphela believes this acquisition marks a significant step towards restoring the club's former glory.

In an exclusive interview with Soccer Laduma, Mphela expressed his approval of Chiefs' strategic move to bring in experienced talent like Sirino.

"Now, we are talking! That's the way to go about things when you want to sign experienced players. We spoke about this before she I said it would be good for Chiefs to sign a player like Sirino who is a winner at heart and has experience. This will give the team a lot this season. Only if they can play him in his favourite position which is a number 10 just behind strikers so that he can create goals and score goals as well. This is really a good move for Chiefs," Mphela told the Siya crew.

Mphela also highlighted areas where Chiefs could still improve to ensure a well-rounded and competitive squad.

"Of course the team is coming well together now but they still need to sign at least one experienced defender and one experienced striker then the team will be well balanced to compete for silverware this season. I think coach Nasreddine Nabi is putting together a team which is meant to compete now which is very good," Mphela concluded.

This strategic approach to recruitment, focusing on bringing in seasoned players to fill key roles, is seen as crucial for Chiefs as they aim to compete at the highest level and challenge for titles once again.

Amakhosi, who missed out on qualifying for the MTN8 after finishing fourth in the league last season, are set to begin their campaign in the Premiership on September 14 against Marumo Gallants in Bloemfontein.
