Ntseki: You Can't Relegate Yourself To A Loser

Kaizer Chiefs head coach Molefi Ntseki has opened up on the mounting pressure from supporters to win their first trophy in eight years.

Amakhosi are still chasing their first trophy in eight years and pressure is mounting on Ntseki after they were eliminated in the MTN8 semi-finals by Mamelodi Sundowns.

There are a lot of expectations on the current Chiefs squad, as supporters believe they finally have quality players, after a number of big signings in the off-season and all the pressure has been placed on the former Bafana Bafana coach.

The Glamour Boys will open their Carling Knockout campaign when they host AmaZulu in the round of 16 on Saturday evening and Ntseki has suggested that he has the capabilities of turning things around and that he can't relegate himself to being a loser.

"When you take this position and even when I was appointed Bafana Bafana coach, I was fully aware of the pressure that comes with this position and even this one is the same," Ntseki said in a press conference.

"But you can't relegate yourself to a loser when you know you've got the capabilities and the knowledge to turn things around.

"I think it's the knowledge and the information that I have that we're working very hard to turn things around at Kaizer Chiefs," he said.

Ntseki continued and said that when he talks about patience, it doesn't mean he's buying time for himself but integrating a new team is a process.

"And I think in football when you talk about patience, people tend to think of you trying to protect yourself and I think patience is not only about the result but the process you are in," he went on.

"Because in the process you are projecting the product. The product sometimes does not come out to be the colour you want but at the same time it doesn't mean you've failed in wanting to achieve whatever you wanted to achieve.

"Starting this season with so much pressure, especially coming from the previous season, not only last season, the previous seasons, I think the club has made a very strong stance in acquiring the technical team and the players, it's a process," he added.
