While he may not share the same surname as his famous grandfather and uncle, young Kenneth Simmons III possesses the Motaung lineage, as the son of Kaizer Chiefs Marketing Director Jessica.

The lanky striker has been flying under the radar turning out for Chiefs' u17 side.

Those who have witnessed the striker play, have described him as a deadly finisher who has been blessed with a football brain and an aerial prowess second to none.

The teenager was part of the Chiefs u17 team that recently lifted the Gauteng Development League title under the guidance of coach Tshidiso Letsholonyane.

Footballing genes run in the Motaung family with Kaizer, the patriarch of the Amakhosi dynasty, being described as a fine footballer in his day where he turned out for Orlando Pirates and Atlanta Chiefs.

Similarly, Kaizer Motaung Jnr, was a decent striker who turned out for Chelsea and TSV Munich 1860 juniors, respectively, before turning out for Kaizer Chiefs, where he now works as the club's sporting director.

It remains to be seen whether or not Simmons III can follow in the famous Motaung footsteps, although early indications are that Chiefs could have a deadly striker on their hands in years to come.
