New Kaizer Chiefs signing Inacio Miguel has disclosed he didn't join the club because of finances but due to the project which the club presented to him and the prospects of the team's future.
Talking to the media during an open day at the club ahead of the Premiership season's opening game against Marumo Gallants on Saturday, the Angolan defender discussed how there were offers from North Africa which were financially higher, but Miguel chose Chiefs because of their "exciting" project.

"For me it was not about money. It was about the project that Kaizer Chiefs have. They have a very good project even if you look at their development and when their management presented that to me, I liked it. If it was about the money I could have joined other teams," Miguel told the media.
"There were offers from North Africa with better money but I chose to come here because of the project and not the money," the Angolan defender added.
Miguel stated that he also recognised how Amakhosi are a big team, and after arriving at the team, he has seen that they are one of the biggest clubs in Africa with better facilities than some in Europe.

"The other reason I agreed to come to Chiefs is that they are a big team not only in South Africa but in Africa as well. Now that I am here I have realised that they have better facilities than other clubs in Europe. I was at Braga in Portugal and these facilities here are very good. And above all, the league here is the best. Yes, there are good leagues in North Africa like Egypt and Morocco but the South African league is the best and I am happy to be here," Miguel concluded.
Miguel's decision to join Chiefs was driven by the club's promising project and excellent facilities, rather than personal financial incentives. His commitment to the team's vision and the quality of the South African league highlight his enthusiasm for contributing to Chiefs' future success.
