Amid the reported uncertainty over Nasreddine Nabi's long-term Kaizer Chiefs tenure following last season's forgettable league campaign, the Tunisian mentor's absence while attending to personal matters has inadvertently showcased the club's coaching depth.
The seamless 2-0 triumph over Stellenbosch FC on the weekend, orchestrated by assistant coaches Khalil Ben Youssef and Cedric Kaze, offers compelling evidence that Amakhosi possess the tactical framework and leadership structure for 2025-26.
Club captain Inacio Miguel emphasized how the absence of the head coach doesn't significantly impact the team because the assistant coaches are an extension of Nabi himself.

Speaking to the media during a press conference, Miguel said that the assistant coaches are a reflection of the coach, and they are doing a good job.
"All of them are there for something, you know. It reflects the coach not only when he is not here but even when he is here. When the coach gets a red card he trusts his technical team, and they trust him. So, unfortunately, coach Nabi is not here, but coach Khalil and coach Kaze are here, and for sure they will do a good job as they have done in the other games," Miguel told the media.
As first revealed by Soccer Laduma, Amakhosi have a captains committee which includes Miguel himself, Brandon Petersen and Zitha Kwinika. The Angolan has emphasized the importance of having Kwinika in the committee, as he regards him as a team captain too.

"Many people say it's pressure, but I don't see it as pressure. I see it as a responsibility. As a privilege. It's not to have the armband to be the captain you know. The thing that we are creating this season is that not only I have the armband as the captain. We are all captains inside the group. We have Zitha, for example. He didn't play much last season, but for me, I am honest. To be honest with you, for me, Zitha is the captain of this team. Brandon (Petersen) is also the captain of this team. Reeve Frosler is also the captain of this team. I am not embracing pressure, I will just be the image of Kaizer Chiefs' captain. We have a lot of responsibilities but also a lot of pride, and it's a privilege to me," Miguel added.
