Gavin Hunt remains the hot favourite to land the Kaizer Chiefs job in the coming weeks, but who could the club turn to should talks collapse?
The Siya crew has put together a list of the FIVE coaches who have an outside chance of landing the plush job at Naturena.
Some have decorated CVs as well larger than life personalities, while others know the background and history of the club.

Stuart Baxter
The Englishman spent three seasons at Chiefs and won four trophies between 2012 and 2015, which included two league titles.
Baxter was highly regarded by the club and his departure did come as surprise at the time. He has recently agreed to coach in India but has not yet travelled there because of the Covid-19 pandemic, which swings things in Chiefs' favour.
Arthur Zwane
Following his retirement a decade ago, the man nicknamed 10111 has been earning his stripes at Chiefs as a youth development coach. His role as the MDC coach has not gone unnoticed, and though a long shot, the club can call on him to hold the fort should talk with Hunt, or any other coach with a bigger profile, collapse.
Doctor Khumalo
Will he return home? He has always been keen and is admired by both the club hierarchy and fans. Khumalo has been in the Amakhosi hot seat before on several occasions in a caretaker capacity. His CV as a head coach might not compare with that of Hunt and Baxter, but the former Chiefs midfield kingpin knows the history and the background, making him a contender – that's if he's not brought back as an assistant anyway.
Eric Tinkler
Irvin Khoza described him as a workaholic with a bright future and he has not proven the Orlando Pirates chairman wrong. After leaving Pirates, the ex-Bafana midfielder has won a trophy at both Cape Town City and SuperSport United, a side he also took all the way to the final of the CAF Confederation Cup in 2017.
He saved Maritzburg United from relegation two seasons ago and has finished an impressive seventh place in his first full year at the club.

Gordon Igesund
One of only four coaches to win the league title on four occasions in the PSL era and has recently expressed an interest in coaching again after spending the last two years building an academy from the ground up.
His CV speaks for itself, though his absence from top-flight football could be a concern.
Benni McCarthy
The Siya crew reported recently that Chiefs have flirted with the idea of McCarthy as a head coach at Naturena. And it is possible his name could be thrown into the hat if their top targets are unavailable. He is currently abroad looking at opportunities there but has said the door is wide open for a return to his native country after leaving Cape Town City.
