Following the signing of Gaston Sirino, who has been handed the famous number ten jersey at Kaizer Chiefs, Soccer Laduma looks at players who wore the number in the last decade.
Players with the jersey number ten at Chiefs have struggled to live up to expectations that come with it.
The likes of Absalom 'Scara' Thindwa, the late Isaac 'Shakes' Kungwane, Stanton 'Stiga' Fredericks, are some of the greats to have lived up to the expectations that come with the number in general, associated with hugely talented players, at Chiefs.

In the last ten years, the jersey number ten at the Glamour Boys has only been worn by four players.
From the 2014/15 season, Siyabonga Nkosi was in his second campaign wearing the jersey and was a fan favourite and made a considerable impact, although Nkosi was still remembered fondly from his first spell in 2006.
However, after Nkosi's departure, it has been downhill for jersey number ten successors to capture the imagination of Amakhosi supporters.
In the 2015/16 season, the Soweto giants did not allocate the number ten to any player but eventually handed it over to new signing Keagan Buchanan in the 2016/17 campaign.
Buchanan spent two seasons at Chiefs before he was released, among an exodus of players.
The Glamour Boys thought they had finally found a gem to represent the number ten after they signed Siphelele Ntshangase in the 2018/19 season.
However, Ntshangase was one of the unluckiest, as he struggled for game time at the Naturena outfit.
The former Black Leopards playmaker spent three seasons with the number ten allocated to him and was ultimately released with nothing much to write home about, after spending much of the latter seasons on the sidelines.

However, finally Chiefs had a number ten that could live up to the jersey, a marquee signing in Keagan Dolly ahead of the 2021/22 season.
Although Dolly's talent is unquestionable, the fact that Amakhosi could not win a trophy during his time at the club overshadowed his individual attributes.
All eyes will be on Sirino with the number ten jersey he has inherited from the former Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder, who was released by Chiefs in the off-season.
Judging by how the famous jersey number tens at Amakhosi got to be celebrated, the only way the Uruguayan can endear himself to the Glamour Boys supporters, is to help them win trophies.
