The story
South African U20 star defender Tylon Smith has opened up about his early days at English Championship outfit Queens Park Rangers, following his recent move from Stellenbosch FC.
The talented centre-back, who was named Player of the Tournament at the U20 Africa Cup of Nations, completed his switch to the London club in late July.
He made his senior debut this week in QPR's 3-2 Carabao Cup defeat to Plymouth Argyle, marking a significant milestone in his budding professional career.
In an interview with SoccerBeat, Smith shared how the transition to life in England has been both on and off the field.
He expressed appreciation for the warm welcome from his new teammates and coaching staff, noting that their support has made it easier to adapt at the club.
"On the pitch, everything is nice, you know. The people make it more comfortable for me; they're very nice. The players, staff members, I just feel honoured to be there," shared Tylon in his chat with Joshua Hendricks.
Off the pitch, settling in West London has proven to be a challenge so far for the youngster, who mentioned that it will take time for him to be comfortable enough to step out and explore his surroundings.
