The story
Shortly after Betway Premiership champions Mamelodi Sundowns confirmed the departure of Thembinkosi Lorch, the experienced attacker posted a lovely goodbye message to the club.
Lorch joined the Brazilians from Orlando Pirates in January 2024, but will now leave the club permanently after a season and a half with Masandawana, where he made 26 appearances and 11 goal contributions.
"Nyoso" is reportedly expected to complete a permanent move to Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club, where he spent the second half of the 2024/25 season on loan and impressed at the FIFA Club World Cup.
"As I turn to the next chapter of my career, I want to thank Masandawana for welcoming, embracing and supporting me," wrote Lorch in a farewell statement shared on Instagram.
"To the chairman, the board, thank you for allowing me to spread my wings up north. To my teammates, coaches and technical team, I am privileged to have played with you and under your guidance, reflected Lorch, as he looks ahead to his adventure in North Africa.
