The story
Rulani Mokwena delved into a different sporting code after he was spotted enjoying some BAL action at the SunBet Arena in Pretoria on Monday night.
Rulani is back on South African shores after a near season-long stint with Moroccan giants Wydad Athletic Club and revealed on Instagram that he was at the BAL Playoffs to support Moroccan champions FUS de Rabat.
"I was supporting FUS because they are from Morocco, my second home, and I was sad to see them lose. Basketball is a very interesting sport," shared Rulani on Instagram.
The young coach was seated courtside as FUS se Rabat were narrowly knocked out of the playoffs by Egypt's Al Ittihad Alexandria, 86–83, after overtime.
Rulani wasn't the only big name coming out to support African basketball; the likes of entertainer Pearl Thusi, amapiano vocalists Zee Nxumalo and Nkosazana Daughter were also in attendance.
