The story
Orlando Pirates have sent the Twitter/X timeline into overdrive after securing the signature of highly-rated Polokwane City winger Oswin Appollis, marking their ninth addition in the current transfer window.
The Buccaneers acted quickly to outpace rivals Kaizer Chiefs and Mamelodi Sundowns in landing the talented 23-year-old.
Appollis made 28 appearances across all competitions last season, contributing two goals and two assists.
A regular in the South African national team setup, he also featured in the Bafana Bafana squad that claimed bronze at the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations in Ivory Coast.
The Happy People are unsurprisingly jovial about Pirates' latest recruit, as Appollis will add plenty of skill, pace, creativity and potentially goals to an already lethal Bucs attack.
Here's how the supporters reacted to the Buccaneers announcing the signing of Appollis:
Appollis' signing has also sparked speculation over Monnapule Saleng and Relebohile Mofokeng's futures.
Saleng has been the topic of transfer speculation since he was cast away in the middle of last season, where he made just 13 appearances in all competitions.
Mofokeng, on the other hand, is a mainstay in Pirates' starting line-up on the left wing and enjoyed a stellar 2024/25 campaign where he contributed with 12 goals and 15 assists overall.
