The story
In a special outreach initiative on the eve of their final group game in the Club World Cup, Sundowns hosted a special coaching clinic for a group of underprivileged children from Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
The youth clinic, organised by Masandawana in partnership with Roc Nation Sports International, took place on Tuesday afternoon and brought together over 50 children for an enjoyable afternoon filled with fun, football, mentorship, and community celebration, bridging the cultures of South Florida and South Africa.
The clinic was led by Sundowns' Head of Academy and Coaching, Paulo Cardoso, along with top coaches, club legends, and club representatives, including the chairman, Tlhopie Motsepe.
The budding youngsters took part in training drills and skills sessions, sharing special experiences with the Downs team, who gifted them the club's jerseys.
This special grassroots football initiative was a significant highlight of Sundowns' Club World Cup journey. It not only aimed to inspire and empower local youth through the power of sport, but also introduced them to the excitement of the beautiful game.
Sundowns will next face Fluminense at 21:00 SA time on Wednesday, a crucial clash as they look to be the only African team to progress to the CWC Round of 16.
