The story
Former Orlando Pirates youth product and Johannesburg-bred star Lyle Foster hosted a successful five-a-side football tournament over the long weekend in collaboration with Jozi's popular indoor football venue, Coalition Fives Randpark.
The event brought together promising youngsters and legendary figures along with football enthusiasts of all ages, creating a vibrant and competitive atmosphere that celebrated community, sport, and local talent.
Foster's Fives tournament saw the winners walking away with a R15,000 cash prize, having entered with just R1,000 (entry fee for each team).
The tournament kicked off at 11 am and ran into the evening, with Foster sharing a vlog of the day's proceedings and the Coalition Fives IG page sharing highlights of a well-supported final.
The initiative, supported by adidas, seemed to be well-received, highlighting Foster's commitment to giving back and promoting grassroots football development in the City of Gold.
