The story
As the Toyota Cup clash between Kaizer Chiefs and Asante Kotoko at Durban's Moses Mabhida Stadium edges closer, the club has made a difference to children in need.
The club visited the Ethelbert Childcare Centre, which is a safe home for the city's vulnerable children, situated in Queensburg, south of Durban.
Amakhosi stars such as Given Msimango, Rushwin Dortley, and Tashreeq Morris were accompanied by the club's KZN-born legends, Brilliant Khuzwayo and Siyabonga Nomvethe, in inspiring the youngsters and handing over gifts to them and a donation to the Youth Care Centre.
The players also conducted a football clinic, providing the star-struck children with memories for a lifetime. Amakhosi's donation saw them hand over food parcels and some appliances, including a microwave.
"A heartfelt THANK YOU to Toyota South Africa and the legendary Kaizer Chiefs for spending a truly unforgettable afternoon with our children at Ethelbert Child and Youth Care Centre!
"Our children were absolutely starstruck and will be talking about this day for a long time to come. Thank you for showing up with purpose, passion, and kindness," wrote the Youth Care Centre on its Instagram page, attaching a gallery of snaps from the jam-packed Thursday afternoon.
