Chiefs’ Ngcobo Goes Against The Grain With Sneaker Collection

Chiefs’ Ngcobo Goes Against The Grain With Sneaker Collection

Amakhosi defender Njabulo Ngcobo brings the sauce when it comes to his choice in Nike sneakers.

Here's a look at his Nike sneaker collection...

What's the story?

Njabulo Ngcobo may be struggling for minutes off the pitch, but that doesn't stop him from showcasing his unique set of Nike kicks.

The lanky defender has a taste for the not-so flashy and popular Nike sneakers, but prefers the understated footwear designs from the famous US Sportswear brand.

Let's take a look at three of his coolest Nike kicks...

Squash type

Ngcobo's style rarely deviates from the streetwear aesthetic, which allows him to play around with a host of sneaker options.

The Nike athlete has a pair of the Nike's Squash-Type N. 354 in 'Summit White/Dark Obsidian/Alpha Orange,' as stated by Hypebeast.

The 80's court-inspired kicks have a skateboarder-esque aesthetic and they're a mixture of suede, leather, and mesh, dressed with plenty of detail like swoosh being embroidered thinly onto the 'Summit White' mid-panel.

The kicks are reasonably priced at R1 106.

Manoadome

The 28-year-old from KZN also boast quite the unique Nike sneaker that you wouldn't normally see on a sneaker-loving footballer.

Ngcobo goes against the grain with a pair of an all-black Nike Manoadome boots.

Valued at R1 372 on brand's website, these bulky kicks offer the durability and traction of a hiking boot, with the comfort of a running shoe according to Nike.

The hybrid boot/sneaker is ideal for inclement weather and any sort of rugged outdoor activity.

Nike Waffle One

One of the more colourful sneakers in Ngcobo's closet are the Nike Waffle One kicks.

The multicolour stunners are made and designed for warm weather in the summer and mixes vibrant and warm tones.

Priced at R1 785 upon release back in 2021, these cosy kicks feature an off-white colour on the mesh base and a suede overlay on the heel, with blue suede wrapping around the toe  area.

Hues of teal shows the ankle area and a bit on the mid-sole. A bright orange swoosh gives it that vibrant element as well as the mustard yellow in the laces area.
