The story

Kaizer Chiefs midfielder George Matlou recently teamed up with a famous Japanese-founded watch brand, Casio, showcasing his growing profile off the pitch as speculation around his future intensifies.

With his contract set to expire at the end of June, Matlou's future at Amakhosi remains uncertain, but that hasn't stopped him from exploring exciting endorsement opportunities beyond football.

It's safe to say that the 26-year-old attacking midfielder hasn't quite reached his full potential since making the move from Moroka Swallows to the Glamour Boys in July 2022.

His time at Naturena has been disrupted by a string of long-term injuries, the most recent of which kept him out for nearly nine months, causing him to miss the bulk of the first half of the current season.

CASIO South Africa posted a video of the skilful midfielder entering the Cajees Time Zone store at Rosebank Mall, where he was seen browsing Casio's G-Shock watches.

"Kaizer Chiefs baller George Matlou is officially part of the CASIO fam! From the pitch to the wrist, he's rocking G-SHOCK style like a pro," announced CASIO SA in their post of Matlou on Instagram.
