The story

After taking up golf last year, Amakhosi and Bafana Bafana legend Itumeleng Khune tried his hand at FootGolf, a hybrid sport that merges football with golf.

According to the FootGolf South Africa website, the game is played with a standard size 5 football on a golf course, and the aim is to kick the ball into 52-centimeter diameter cups in the fewest possible kicks across 9 or 18 holes.

The hybrid sport was founded in the Netherlands back in 2009, with Khune joining the likes of Arsenal's David Raya, Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola and Manchester United legend Paul Scholes in trying out FootGolf.

Take a look:

Despite being unattached since his contract expired at the Glamour Boys at the end of last season, Khune seems to be enjoying life away from professional football.

Along with being launched as Top Bet SA's ambassador and shareholder, the 37-year-old's Instagram posts sees him spending quality time with his family and interacting with supporters.

He's also doing punditry work for SABC Sport and has been spotting on mining sites on a couple of occasions, raising questions over his future in the game as a player.
