The story
Aubrey Modiba's career has been characterised by flair, success and resilience, with the Mamelodi Sundowns utility player explaining what made him stronger as a player.
Although Modiba's recent achievements with both club and country read as though his career has been smooth sailing, like any footballer, the "Postman" has had to overcome difficult moments in his career, which have further shaped him as the baller he is today.
The former SuperSport United midfielder, who has ten major honours to his name, including five league titles, spoke to Soccer Bible's Daniel Jones about overcoming difficult moments on the pitch.
"There've been tough patches where I wasn't playing well or doubted myself. But those moments taught me resilience. They prepared me for life both on and off the pitch.
"You learn that it's not the end of the road — you can always bounce back. That mindset made me stronger," stated Modiba, as quoted by Soccer Bible.
Modiba and his Masandawana teammates are settling into their base in Florida, and they'll look to make their mark and fly the South African flag high in Group F against South Korea's Ulsan HD, Germany's Borussia Dortmund and Brazil's Fluminese.
